Bowman Gray Stadium 2014 Schedule
2014 Schedule Released, Bruce Hayes Honored.
There are 19 nights of racing on the schedule in 2014. The season kicks off April 26th with the longest event for the “Madhouse” Modifieds for 200 laps. The Modifieds will have five 100 lap “Cone” races. The other race nights the Modifieds will run Twin 25’s or Twin 50 Lap events.
Each of the other divisions will have long distance events schedules as well. There are two 2 day shows when the K&N East Series and the Southern Modifieds come to town. The Stadium Divisions and other classes will race on Friday Night and the Touring Series on Saturday Night.
Championship night for 2014 will be August 23rd with 150 Laps for the Modifieds and double points in all divisions. There are five $2.00 Ladies Nights scheduled. The full schedule is posted on the Bowman Gray Stadium Website
Bruce Hayes of Hayes Jewelers in Lexington will receive the Allison Family Corporate Award, given in memory of Clifford and Davey Allison, on Feb. 19, 2014 at the Living Legends of Auto Racing banquet at Daytona Beach, Fla. Bobby and Donnie Allison will present the award He has been involved at Bowman Gray Stadium for over 55 years as a sponsor of Championship drivers and races. Hayes Jewelers supplied the trophy’s that were presented to a lot of drivers during the Winston Cup era and now with the NHRA. He also owned the engine in Richard Petty’s car that crashed with David Pearson in the 1976 Daytona 500.
